GET TO KNOW ME
After more than a decade's worth of experience as a licensed clinical psychologist, I'm so grateful to have a career where people entrust me to understand and guide them, and to celebrate their wins. Through doctoral-level training in evidence-based practices, I've developed specializations in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, chronic pain, and trauma (problems that can often interact), as well as in the treatment of self-medication and other compulsive coping behaviors.

The people who come to me are often baffled by the parts of their lives that aren't working. They might be using considerable intellectual resources to think themselves into unhelpful loops; white-knuckle willpower to break out of and then lapse back into unhelpful patterns; or fierce, selfless love to lose themselves, making relationships to others unsustainable. I teach that what we consider our liabilities can be clues to our strengths and values. With increased courage and flexibility, we can use our deepest needs as fuel, flourishing not in spite of but because of who we are.

If we elect to work together, you'll notice that I take an integrative approach, pulling from my training and lived experience to best meet your needs and preferences. I believe we all do the best we can to cope with pain, using whatever skills we have available. And yet sometimes our best efforts to avoid suffering can serve to keep us stuck retreading the same paths. Step by step, let's venture forward in our work together, letting suffering subside as we uncover meaning, learning to live more full and valued lives.
